Shatner Spplat Attack

This was an event where pretty much nothing went the way we had hoped.  We did have some good times and hopefully things will be much better the next time we take the tank to another state.  I'm hoping to do some sort of write up for the event soon.  The best part for me was getting to finally meet some of the other tankers out there.  One of my biggest regrets is that I didn't get as many pictures of them that I had wanted to.  A really big disappointment to me personally is that I got no pictures of the Gryphonians tank crew.  They had the best outfits and it's a real shame that I didn't get any pictures of them in their Klingon costumes.  I was really hoping to have used this event to expand my tank crew section and with all the problems we ran into it just didn't happen.  I did manage to get a few pictures of some of the other tankers and those are near the bottom of the Event Tanks page.  I did learn quite a lot from all of them and I have all sorts of ideas buzzing around in my head right now and I keep thinking I have got to find a way to fund the second tank! hahaha.  At this moment it doesn't look like we'll be taking the Tiger anywhere anytime soon but I'm thinking that maybe in the spring sometime I'm going to try to get myself out to a few events just to talk to the other tankers and get some pictures of them!  George thinks I'm insane but I thought at the very least we should think about going to the Oklahoma D-Day event and I would return to CPX if it was up to me next year for the next Spplat Attack if they have one.  For purely selfish reasons of not wanting to tow the tank that far I would like to see it held at a closer field.  Everyone we talked to at CPX was very helpful and more than willing to listen to us.  There are some problems with having tanks on their field at this time but I think that all of those problems will be corrected for their next tank event.  I honestly believe that the biggest problem we had was just miscommunication and by the looks of things that problem has already been fixed.  I only hope that we'll be able to make it.  I was thinking that if it was during the next summer or on one of the school vacation times I'd take a week off to get there early.  We did get a chance to drive through the town of Bedlam a bit but were chased out by the ref.  We thought we were allowed in there but that seemed to be a miscommunication.  I'm pretty sure that at least JimB got to also drive through there too but I don't know if anyone else did.  One things for sure that short drive has really whetted some of the Tiger crews appetites for going to Blanding.  Hopefully that'll out weigh the lack of desire to go very far.

As I've said on a few forums.  To quote Captain Kirk in Star Trek IV 'You're not really catching us at our best here'

And of course the accident
