Combat Shuttle Rommel Well if your reading this and we haven't left for the CPX game yet then you've found the hidden page on Armored Fist. I'm starting work on this page to document the conversion of the Tiger into a Starfleet Combat Shuttle. We're kind of keeping much of the modifications secret until we unveil the shuttle at the event but I wanted to at least start this page. This is my preliminary idea sketch.
This one compares it to a rough outline of the tanks base. work on the cannon The First day of modifications Day Two, slow day Day Three (of actual work that is). Wasn't able to get much done on the tank today. We had to go to George's parents to dispose of an old trailer. I did get my generator back from the shop and we spent a good deal of time discussing how we could setup the A/C. That'll take some work. It didn't help that we don't actually have the A/C yet so it's kind of hard to measure it hahaha. George is going to start painting tomorrow and I received the new valve today! Day Four Well I didn't get any work done on the new shell today and George got delayed by the weather today, so no paint yet but we did have a productive day in regards to the rear of the tank. This new project I started should easily confirm that we're (me) completely insane with the Tiger. George finished the new rear windows and seems to have perfected his design.
Day Five Looks like we're just about finished with the rear of the tank now. It was overcast all day and did drizzle a bit here and there so once again no painting was done. I did have the A/C running off of both the generator and house current. It gets really cool after a while. The windows even fogged up on me so looks like we've got another project hahaha. The generator isn't as quiet as I want. I'll be installing some Styrofoam insulation for sound deadening and installing a second muffler on the generator. If we can have a dual exhaust engine we can have a sort of dual exhaust generator. I finally cut up the 14" PVC tube to simulate a real Tigers exhaust and to hide the A/C generator. Before I did though I thought; 'hmm... this would make a HUGE cannon, maybe 4 SUPAH valves and I could do 1case 1 shot.' Not something I'd want to get hit with hahaha.
Day Six Ever have one of those days where nothing seems to go the way you want. I was able to get the air compressor at least had to make three different stops to do it though. Most of the day was unproductive. George U. and I were able to get the turret off and start on both the new gun ports and the new caster setup. He got a good portion of another new pressure chamber done. Turns out the fittings I have aren't pressure rated and he had an interesting idea that should take up a lot less space, so yet again we weren't able to test the SUPAH! valve out today. Tuesday is looking good, well it had better since we are leaving Thursday hahaha.
Day Seven So much for doing this update every night after getting home from George's. I didn't leave George's until midnight last night, so by the time I actually got home I was a little too wiped out to sort the pictures and put them up. So if anyone missed this last night, sorry about that. Yesterday went pretty well. We actually got the first coat of paint on. We didn't finish the shell on the drivers side but that should take less than an hour today. Crunch time came so the next two days weren't posted until after the event. Sorry about that guys but I was pretty short on the sleep department. Day Eight
